Jason Ewer ’13 Phi Kappa Psi, Lauren Hinkel ’14 Kappa Kappa Gamma, Hannah Komar ’13 Alpha Gamma Delta biology majors will present research papers with their faculty mentors at the 88th annual meeting of the Pennsylvania Academy of Science March 30-April 1 at Cedar Crest College. Jason Ewer ’13 Phi Kappa Psi  (Kingston, Jamaica) worked with Manuel Ospina-Giraldo, assistant professor of biology, on Phytophthora infestans, the organism that caused the Irish Potato Famine.

Lauren Hinkel ’14 Kappa Kappa Gamma  (Doylestown, Pa.) and Hannah Komar ’13 Alpha Gamma Delta (Danville, Pa.) worked on research on phytophthora sojae, a plant pathogen that can damage soybean crops, with Ospina-Giraldo.
