Jason Ewer ’13 Phi Kappa Psi  (Kingston, Jamaica) worked with Manuel Ospina-Giraldo, assistant professor of biology, on Phytophthora infestans, the organism that caused the Irish Potato Famine.

Lauren Hinkel ’14 Kappa Kappa Gamma  (Doylestown, Pa.) and Hannah Komar ’13 Alpha Gamma Delta (Danville, Pa.) worked on research on phytophthora sojae, a plant pathogen that can damage soybean crops, with Ospina-Giraldo.
