This semester has already been a time of great meaning and impact for our sisters in Kappa. We held our annual Kappa Kisses fundraiser to support the Rose McGill Foundation. It was a successful year with proceeds exceeding $500. This event was a testament to the generosity and commitment of both our sisters and the larger Lafayette community.

Our chapter was also honored to host Brittany Paxton during our annual Courage to Commit program. She spoke about how each of us, as sisters and leaders on campus, can take proactive and informed steps to advocate and prevent sexual assault. Her presentation sparked many thought provoking discussions and further solidified our chapter’s commitment to creating a culture of accountability, awareness and support.
Also, in collaboration with Mojo, we held a fundraiser to recognize National Eating Disorders Awareness Month. This partnership gave us the opportunity to reach out to the entire campus community, while continuing to support a cause that aligns with our prioritization of wellness.
Our chapter will continue to make a priority of diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) initiatives. Several workshops and meetings were attended this semester, including a Black History Month Zoom meeting sponsored by Lehigh University. We are committed to creating a knowledgeable, inclusive and supportive environment for all of our members.
Service is at the heart of everything that we do. Sisters volunteer weekly at Cheston Elementary School developing relationships and positively impacting the local community. This opportunity has been a tremendous reward for our chapter and it continues to grow in participation and enthusiasm.
We are very proud of the opportunity for Zeta Beta to welcome two new Continuous Open Bidding (COB) sisters to our sisterhood this semester. They have shown such enthusiasm, such great potential for leadership and they have been so eager to be an active part of Kappa. It is exciting to watch them build relationships with one another and with the rest of the Kappa family and to contribute to the positive, supportive sisterhood that we have in our chapter.

Note from our President:
I am incredibly proud of the work that our new executive board has already accomplished this semester. We have made meaningful progress toward strengthening our chapter through new DEI initiatives, expanded community service efforts, and the creation of new committees and coordinator roles to provide additional leadership opportunities. The introduction of a sustainability coordinator role reflects our commitment to growth and responsibility in all areas of our organization. Our chapter continues to show dedication, collaboration, and passion, and I am excited to see how we build on this momentum in the months ahead.

Upcoming Events:
For the remainder of the semester, we are excited to facilitate many philanthropy events, including:
• KKG and DTD Bake Sale – March 11th
• Grilled Cheese & Fries with Chi Phis – April 17th
• Marina Day – April 26th
• KKG and DKE Spikeball Tournament – May 8th
In addition, we plan to integrate additional programming into our calendar focused on DEI initiatives through partnerships with LRAJE, the Office of Intercultural Development, and other campus organizations. Our goal remains to create a chapter environment that is both informed and welcoming, and a place where every member feels empowered, supported and proud to wear the Key.
