• Founded in 1998, the Stamford, Conn.-based label is sold in 21 of its own retail stores and retailers including Saks Fifth Avenue and Nordstrom.
• The label’s logo is a whale, a nod to Martha’s Vineyard’s whaling history. The founders’ father taught his sons how to carve the island’s famous wooden whales when they were children.
