A Letter from the AISB President
Dear Lafayette Fraternal Alumni,
As the newly elected president of the AISB (Alumni Intrafraternity and Sorority Board), I am pleased to share an update on the Lafayette fraternal community. Our fraternity and sorority organizations had a strong spring semester in 2026, and we have many exciting opportunities for the 2026-27 academic year. The 2025-26 academic year saw one of the most robust sorority recruitments in years, with 192 women joining organizations. With the recent re-recognition of Kappa Delta Rho fraternity, joined by new-to-Lafayette organizations Phi Sigma Chi Multicultural Fraternity, Inc. and Mu Sigma Upsilon Sorority, Inc., we are 14 organizations strong with 549 Greek undergraduates returning this fall.
The 2025 – 2026 school year included incredible achievements by our undergraduate members. The all-FSL GPA of 3.49 exceeded the all-College average of 3.45, demonstrating the commitment of our undergraduates to their academics, as well as to their philanthropic efforts, sports, and clubs. FSL organizations won many awards from their national organizations, including Excellence in Increasing Recruitment Registration and Outstanding Health, Wellness, & Accountability (Alpha Phi); Best Alumni Event, Best Alumni Organization, and Best Chapter Newsletter (Chi Phi); and Activities Award Honor Roll (Alpha Gamma Delta). Members were inducted into Sigma Tau Delta, the international English honors society (Kappa Kappa Gamma); and the Order of Omega, the national honor society for fraternity and sorority members (Pi Phi). Organizations celebrated their own milestones, including the Distinguished Mentoring and Teaching Award’s 30th anniversary (Delta Upsilon). Lafayette’s own most prestigious award, the George Wharton Pepper Prize, was awarded to a member of our community, Dexter Kennedy ’26 (Delta Tau Delta).
In alumni news, each one of our current fraternal organizations was represented by an incredible alumni event at this summer’s Bicentennial Reunion (June 5-7). We invite any alumni, on-campus house or not, to consider hosting events at upcoming reunions, or tailgates at upcoming football games. I would like to thank our outgoing president, Kristin Anderson ’14 (Pi Phi), for her incredible work shepherding this organization over the last four years. I am grateful in the knowledge that she is staying on as our vice president for the 2026-28 term, along with our returning secretary, Linda DeLaurentis ’81 (Kappa Kappa Gamma).
One of the highlights of AISB’s past term was advocating for the College to return to a six-week new member period, up from the previous three-week period, better aligning with national organizations’ best practices and allowing our undergraduates to better understand the traditions and history of our organizations before their initiations.
With the support of our officers and our dedicated community of fraternal representatives, we are entering this fall’s recruitment season excited for the opportunity to bring more undergraduates into our community and induct them into the lifelong bonds of friendship, community, and responsibility that we all share.
